Member Spotlight - Al Macintyre

Member Spotlight President Alison shone the spotlight on Al Macintyre, a member since 1985 introduced by Past President Tony Fisher, Alan is a past Chair and has been an active member of the Bed Race Committee for a number of years.

He has shared his talent in building the Beds and attaching the wheels and helps to coordinate the bed building days before the race. This requires many hours of hard work and Al can be counted on to work long as needed to get this job done.

A very friendly guy, Al has a terrific sense of humour. I’ve heard that he is also quite knowledgeable and is a good supporter of the World Trivia, which he has attended every year since this fundraiser was started by Kiwanis Club of Orleans 17 years ago.

Members’ Spotlight - Ross Christensen and Ken Miller

President Alison honoured two active members today. Firstly, Ross Christesen took a leading role in establishing the “Pass the Torch” campaign to raise funds for the War Museum. He has also recently served as a very active Chair of our Membership Committee.

Secondly, Ken Miller was honoured for his long record of working on our Cadets Committee.

Luncheon Meeting - Legion of Honour & New Members - Fairmont Chateau Laurier

The success of Kiwanis International is largely due to the strong, effective, and active service of thousands of Kiwanians. Many of these dedicated individuals have achieved more than 25 years of service to Kiwanis, and they deserve recognition for helping make Kiwanis the great organization it is today.

The Legion of Honor Award of Kiwanis International has been created to assist in extending a
token of appreciation to these Kiwanians, recognizing members with 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55,
60, 65, 70, and 75 years of service.
