Dr. Indu Gambhir, an Emergency Room doctor in Cornwall and Ottawa, has recently returned from Sudan where she volunteered her services. Sudan is one of the poorest countries in the world and is in constant turmoil.  Dr. Gambhir will share with us her first-hand experience in her efforts to assist the people in Sudan, who struggle daily with a very high risk of food and waterborne diseases.  Dr. Gambhir is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Bytown.   Sudan, in northeast Africa, is the largest and one of the most diverse countries in Africa, home to deserts, mountain ranges, swamps and rain forests.  With a population of 41,236,378 only 2.4% are over 65 years of age, with 62.5 deaths for every 1,000 children born, and 400,000 people are living with HIV/AIDS.
