President Bill Gosewitz opened the Semi-Annual business meeting by introducing the current board of directors and then the newly elected board for 2008-09. He then invited Honorary Treasurer Bob Fisher to present a brief overview of the club’s finances. Bob said that the finances are in line with the budget and that we will be continuing to reduce our administrative expenses. He said that two of our three main fundraisers for the year had reached or exceeded their objectives, and that he was confident the Golf Tournament would also be a very successful event. He thanked the chairs and co-chairs Steve Moore (Bed Race) Paul Drouin and Bruno Di Chiara (Bon Appétit) and Patrick McGarry (Golf Tournament) for all their efforts. President Bill reiterated Bob’s praise for the excellent work of the various fundraising committees and stressed the need for the Club to find a fourth major fundraiser. He said that our Community Service Committees were very active; and the Club is looking at a possible extended role in the Kiwanis Music Festival.
The board is considering asking committee chairs to serve 2 year terms. We all must be more proactive in recruiting new members. Thank you to the members for attending the meeting. May 30th Attendance 54 Members
