Weekly Meeting - Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal - September/11 and Beyond

A meeting that touched the heart of everyone in the room! Paul Celluci, US Ambassador to Canada, thanked Kiwanis and the Salvation Army volunteers for all they do for their community. He saluted the Salvation Army for coming to the front line for 9/11 and thanked all Canadians for their support Major Gary Miller of the Salvation Army in New York spoke about the volunteers who have served 3.7 million meals to date and that continue to provide aid as needed. He commented on the millions of dollars of in-kind donations provided by Canadians. Major Cheryl Miller noted that volunteers are still working to sift through the debris and marvelled at how the nation pulled together. This has changed how many of us look at our lives and also reinforced how strong North Americans are in times of tragedy. Thank you to Distinguished Lt. Gov. Ron Wing for chairing a great meeting.

Thought for the Week: The secret to happy living is not to do what you like, but to like what you do.
