Weekly Meeting - Round Table, Ottawa Congress Centre Terrace

Our Round Table luncheon was exactly what we needed on such a rainy day to sit inside and enjoy a great buffet luncheon at the Congress Centre. No rushing and a good time to catch up on what your fellow members are doing for the summer. Thank you to Wayne French for doing the Invocation. (Peter Patafie went to the Fairmont Chateau but none of us showed up!)

10th Annual Charity Golf Tournament - 2007-08-20 Monday, August 20, 2007 - 11:00am Registration, 11:00-12:30pm Lunch, 1:00pm Shotgun The Kiwanis Club of Ottawa Inc. is pleased to present its 10th Annual “Children - Priority One” Charity Golf Tournament. All of the net proceeds will be deposited into the Foundation account of the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa. Then, periodically, these funds will be distributed to support various deserving initiatives within the community - principally those that align themselves with our primary Kiwanis mission “Children – Priority One”. Location: Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club, One Hunt Club Road, Ottawa 11:00am Registration, 11:00-12:30pm Lunch, 1:00pm Shotgun Participants: Business leaders from the greater Ottawa community. Effective September 1, 2007, the Fairmont Chateau Laurier will be increasing luncheon fees by $2.00 (to $30.20 all inclusive), therefore there will be an increase to our Active members of $2.00. Active members will be billed quarterly at a rate of $23.00 (currently $21) and Senior/Honorary & Guests will pay $30.00 at the door effective September 1, 2007.

Ottawa Seniors High Tea at City Hall Sponsored by AlaVida Lifestyles - Thursday, August 9, 2007 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Place Jean Pigott at Ottawa City Hall, 111 Laurier Avenue West, Ottawa / Tickets are $7.00 each. “ Join in the fun and sway to the sounds of The Grey Jazz Band” or invite a Senior to join in the fun. Members of our club are asked to volunteer to help set up the tables from 10:00 to 12:00, then for greeting and helping the Seniors from 12:00 to 3:00 pm. The Bedzzz Race Committee needs your help!! If you come across an old bike, grab it! We need bike parts, specifically 24/28 inch wheels and forks. The Bedzzz Race Committee, with the help of the Hands-On Committee, will be building 15 Race Beds for the February 9th, 2008, Bedzzz Race. These new racing beds will be sold to new teams who want to participate but do not have the time or means to build their own bed. We will be building these Race Beds during the summer and fall so keep your eye out for USED BIKES – New teams mean more pledges and higher revenues for the club. 1. If there have been ANY CHANGES to your Roster information since the 2006-07 Roster was printed, please inform the Kiwanis office. If there is no reply, we will assume that the information currently in the roster is correct and NO CHANGES will be made.

2. If you wish to have a new photograph in our Roster, please supply us with one in business attire (an electronic copy would be best, but a regular photograph can be used for scanning. If there are others in the photo with you, we can crop you from the photograph).

3. NEW MEMBERS who have joined the club during the past club year must supply us with a photo as soon as possible (if you have not already done so). We can take your picture at a Friday luncheon if you don’t have a chance to get one. In order for the Rosters to be available for end of September, 2007 the DEADLINE FOR CHANGES is July 27, 2007 – for the first draft All members were sent a Roster Change form.
