How does hunger affect people within our very community and how can people help? What is The Ottawa Food Bank, why was it formed in 1984, how does it work; and which agencies do they support. Come and learn more about this agency and how you can help.
Kiwanis Christmas Basket Program Volunteers needed
So far we have over 60 families that will be receiving a delivery of food on December 20th – we need More Volunteers to help deliver the spirit of Christmas to these families in need. We will meet on Saturday morning at the Food Basics at Hampton Park where boxes will be loaded into vehicles and delivered – To confirm your availability please send an email to Bill Gosewitz at firstname.lastname@example.org with the headline – Christmas baskets.

Dec 12th $$ Money Vote At the Board of Directors meeting on Nov 17th, approval was given for the Direct Assistance Committee funding of $5,000 for St. Joseph’s Parish – St. Joe’s Supper Table. These funds will be used as part of their kitchen renovation project and to update their stove/oven. This has been approved by the Direct Assistance Committee members. There will be a General Membership Money vote at the luncheon on Friday, December 12.
Kiwanis Club of Ottawa, Annual Christmas Luncheon for Seniors 11:30 am, Thursday, December 25 – The Good Companions Centre at 670 Albert Street will feature Traditional Turkey Luncheon with all the trimmings. Tickets are only $8 and can be purchased from Past President Neil McDonald, Sandra Presley, or the Good Companions Centre at 613-236-0428 Volunteers are needed as follows: Wed. Dec.24, 10:00 – 12:00 - to set up the room (10 people required) Thu. Dec.25, 11:00 – 2:00 - to serve the meal, and help with clean up (10 people required).
