July 14th Luncheon – Now we know why Bob Garrow is so happy and so calm – he knows the secret to successful businesses… a strategic plan. “Captain Bob” a fictitious pirate captain, explained that years ago pirates mastered leadership, were quite innovative in their tactics and energized people. He believes in the 3 basic principles that will ensure you success in your business… 1. Get your group on board and develop your plan; 2.Stay the course - stick to your objective and goals, and 3. President’s Rose – Helene Crabb is everywhere! She was introduced by Martin Diegel in 2004 and regularly volunteers for many of our hands-on projects, especially for our sponsored Seniors. In her professional capacity, she had provided translation for our Bed Race committee, and thus found a service club that allows her to serve the community. This spring she organized a Music showcasing 3 young musicians, including her daughter, and through the program advertising, raised $1,000 for Helping Hands. A dependable and devoted Kiwanian. Thank you Helene!

HOPE Beach Volleyball – Our club thanks Grill Master for giving us the opportunity to work at the HOPE Beach Volleyball last weekend and we were among the many volunteers who helped serve 20,000 hamburgers, sausages, hotdogs and veggie burgers. Our members had fun, there was a team spirit and good participation, and many commented that it was a great event to be at... and their kids loved being with Kiwanis for the day.

Staples Business Depot ‘Back to School’ Supply Drive Staples Business Depot has once again partnered with Kiwanis to collect school supplies for underprivileged schools and students in our community and across Canada. This year’s program will run from August 13 until September 23, 2006. The collection bins will be in-store by July 20.
