Thank you to Mike Moore for arranging this luncheon at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club. Our annual Kiwanis Golf Tournament has raised almost $750,000 over the past 12 years and their goal is to reach $1 Million. These funds are substantial in our annual fundraising and enable us to continue supporting our sponsored youth and young children projects.
Jeremy Moore was pleased to present our $500.00 cheque to the Trevor Haines for the Ottawa Hunt Club’s Junior Golf Program, and to introduce 14-year old Mike Rheaume, who started with the program when he was 8 years old and is a 2 handicapped player!
Putting Contest Results - For those of you that were unable to attend this luncheon, you missed seeing Barb Perrin’s victory in the putting contest over a field dominated by men. Barb sunk an 18 foot putt in a sudden death final and walked away with the grand prize and bragging rights for the year as the Ottawa Kiwanis Club Indoor Putting Champion!. We raised $128.00 with our little event, so thanks to all who participated. Thanks to Geoff Godding for coordinating this putting contest and to our special guest, Dave Kahlil who conducted the putting clinic – Barb was up there watching Dave very closely!
Attendance: 37 = 33 Members, 4 Guests

Ken Birch Memorial Golf Tournament
The Airline Operator’s Committee at the Ottawa International Airport, held their annual Golf Tournament on June 25th, and renamed their tournament this year to the “Ken Birch Memorial Golf Tournament”, with all charitable proceeds (after expenses) going to the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa. President-Elect Phil Rossy attended their golf dinner and on behalf of Kiwanis, accepted a plaque in recognition of the contribution that Ken gave to the “Youth of Ottawa” for almost 50 years. Next year, they will also welcome someone from our club to coordinate their putting contest, as Ken always did, with all proceeds going to our club. Ken would be very proud!
