Weekly Meeting - Key Club Luncheon at Sala San Marco

It is always great to see and hear from our sponsored youth groups. Key Clubs from Sir Robert Borden, Nepean, Lisgar and Glebe reported on their year and what a year it was. Whether collecting for Toy Mountain, holding a spaghetti dinner or bake sale, raking leaves or participating in the 2006 BEDZZZ race, Key Clubbers raised close to $20,000.00 for their community projects.

The annual convention was a success with committee members passing around the high fives at the Head Table. Entertainment was provided by the Glebe Madrigal Choir singing a cappella secular choral music from the 14th century, directed by Ms. Rachel Handley. Thanks for the great performance!

Raffle Prize – Congratulations to Helene Crabb, who won the raffle of a Sunday Brunch for two at the Marriott and to Laura Cheffins Christensen who won a healthy living walk-o-meter, both prizes donated by Grant Yusak. Thank you all for contributing, $108 was raised for our Key Clubs.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you... to everyone who contributed to our Kiwanis Silent Auction held at the Bon Appetit May 2, at Lansdowne. The members who canvassed for items from their contacts, the members who donated items or cash, the committee members, and all the volunteers - you made it happen. Our goal of 100 items was reached, and we couldn't have done this without your help! We estimate that we grossed $29,400 at the event, less minor expenses. Right on!
