Barb McInnes spoke of the history of the Community Foundation and reminded us our involvement back in 1983 when the idea was just a seed. The Foundation is a trusted leader and valued re-source dedicated to building a complete community by: attracting gifts for a growing endowment; disbursing of grants to enhance community life; and, by identifying opportunities for collaboration and dialogue on community issues. She stressed that there are many changes in philanthropy and that foundations are flourishing in these needy times. She invited members to attend their Grantmakers Round table to discuss ways of giving away funds to make a difference in the community.
Thought for the Week: Proactive people carry their own weather with them...whether it rains or shines makes no difference to them.
