2017 Bed Race Results

With the race back on the Rideau Canal at Dows Lake, we had a cool windy day for racing. The event was able to raise over $35,000 for projects of the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa and the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation.

The race was one of our closest ever, with a virtual three way tie.

Christmas Luncheon for Seniors

The Club has been running a Christmas luncheon for seniors going back to meals at the Kiwanian Alex Dayton Centre for more than 30 years. This year's dinner at the Good Companions included a turkey meal and a visit from Santa Claus.

Kiwanis Christmas Food Hampers

You can help feed a family of 4 for a week, for only $75. 

Each year the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa begins with a Watch-it Shred-it day to raise funds, and the target is to provide food to 180 families in the Ottawa area. You can help with an online donation and get a tax receipt for your donation.

100% of the funds will go to our Christmas Food Basket program.  All donations must be received by December 15th to provide time for us to arrange the baskets.

2016 Accora Village Bed Race for Kiwanis Results

The Accora Village Bed Race for Kiwanis was forced to change locations to the Laurier Steet Bridge, and the event came off with lots of smiles on the second weekend of Winterlude with $40,000 being raised for Kiwanis Club of Ottawa projects.

Christmas Lunch for Seniors

For over 40 years the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa has been serving lunch to seniors for Christmas. This year's luncheon took place at the Good Companions Centre, and was attended by over 100 seniors, and lunch was served by Kiwanians and their families. Santa Claus was in attendance, and the entertainment was provided by Dominic D'Arcy and his Rising Stars.

Kiwanis Luncheon - Allen Ure - Kiwanis EC&C District Governor

This was the official visit of Kiwanis EC&C District Governor Allen Ure as we were joined by Kiwanians from the area.

Joe Roberts of Push for a Change who will be pushing a shopping cart across Canada next summer to draw attention to the issue of youth homelessness. His topic tied in with our recent partnership with the Youth Service Bureau.

18th Annual "One Can Make a Difference" Golf Tournament

The Kiwanis Club of Ottawa Inc. ran its 18th Annual “One Can Make a Difference” Charity Golf Tournament. Proceeds of over $50,000 will be used to enable Kiwanis service projects which support the Kiwanis theme of “One Can Make a Difference”. This year, the cocktail party included some wonderful music from Kiwanis Music Festival performers.

2014 Watch-It, Shred-It Day

Dispose of your personal records securely and support Kiwanis programs, too!

Bring your old tax files and other personal records for this one-day fundraising event. Watch as Shred-it technicians destroy your documents at their mobile unit. Cost to you is only $8 per box.  You can bring a bankers box (approximately 12"x12"x15") or any box that you can carry, and if you want they'll even give you back the box.

When: Saturday, October 18, 2014  from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Hampton Park Plaza, at the intersection of Carling and Kirkwood just off the Queensway.  Just look for the big Shred-it trucks and drive into the parking lot. Volunteers will direct you where to drive.
