Wayne was Chair of the former Benefit Dinner Committee and the Duck Race Committee, and was a very instrumental part of the Duck Race, transporting Coach Quacky. In 1998 he came up with the idea of a Duck Bus and arranged with Blue Line to donate the bus to sell duck tickets all over the city. Wayne was elected to the Board, served as Director for two years and was elected Vice-President in 1994-95. He spent time on many other committees, including Music, Programme, Interclub Sports and Social, and Senior Citizens. He has attended many Interclub meetings, and since his wife, Firma, is a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Bytown, he also tags along for some of their club events. For Canada Day, Wayne is the coordinator for our club’s volunteers for the Mayor’s Canada Day Breakfast, where our club serves breakfast to over 4,000 Seniors. He does this quietly and without much fuss. This year, Wayne has agreed to Chair the Kiwanis Medical Foundation Committee, to work with the trustees and assist with requests for medical research and treatment. Wayne, Thank You for helping us to Make A Difference.
