“One Can Make a Difference” President’s Rose – Tom Pullen

President Peter was proud to recognize Past President Tom Pullen, who was introduced to our club by Jim Preston in April 1975. Tom was our Club President in 1991–92 and like many of our past presidents, Tom continues to be a regular attendee at our Friday luncheons as well as an energetic participant on our committees. Tom was instrumental, in 1997, in developing a new fundraiser with the Ottawa Senators Partners In Caring, which he arranged on his own initiative. [<p>]The Partners In Caring project was one our major fundraisers allowing us to provide much needed funding to many organizations, such as Candlelighters, Ronald McDonald House, and the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group Youth Psychiatry. Tom has always worked closely with our Membership Committee, and was very instrumental in establishing our Corporate Membership. This membership category involves inviting corporate clients, to become members of our Club, and provides many benefits to our club as well as increasing our relationships with the leaders of the City of Ottawa. Today there is a heavy emphasis placed on Corporate Responsibility, and companies are being approached on a daily basis. This year Tom is Co-Chair of the Corporate Membership Committee, working alongside Past President Derek Finley.
