The Kiwanis Club of Ottawa and the Canadian Special Olympics will be holding a media conference on Friday, 1999-06-25 to announce the upcoming involvement of the 20 Kiwanis Clubs from the Ottawa-Hull area in the 2000.
Special Olympic Winter games to be held in the National Capital Region on January 25-30, 2000. Kiwanis Clubs from the Ottawa-Hull area have been involved in Special Olympics for the past three years and will announce a major involvement in the 2000 Games.
The press conference will include Ian Hendry, President of the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa and Ron Wing, the Lt. Governor Elect and Chair for the Kiwanis Fund raising for the Special Olympics as speakers from Kiwanis. Speakers from the Special Olympics will include Peter Charbonneau, the Honorary Chair of the 2000 Winter Games and Dr. Frank Hayden, the founder of Special Olympics.
The Kiwanis Club of Ottawa is celebrating 82 years of active fund raising and community involvement as a non-profit organization. The largest Kiwanis Club in Canada, and with over $600,000 returned to the local community each year, the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa is one of the most active and dynamic service clubs in the world.
