Director Steve Moore did a fine job chairing the luncheon meeting while President Gary attended the Kiwanis District Convention in Aruba!
Imam Dr. Mohamad Jebara welcomed us with his greeting and spoke about the importance of meeting people in different cultures as we will learn that our hopes and dreams are similar. A lack of communication and understanding is often the cause for conflict so be sure to greet others and to share your happiness with them. “An organ donation is a great example of “shared humanity,” he said, because the donor has no idea of the race or ethnicity of the recipient, and vice-versa. It’s just a gift from one human to another”.
We wish Dr. Jebara good luck as he embarks on a cycling trip to Toronto, starting May 26th, to raise awareness for organ donation through the Trillium Gift of Life.
Thought for the week: Look within. Recycle yourself. Be an organ donor!
