Kiwanis launches 2nd Annual Lottery for Kids


The Rideau Centre and the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa are pleased to announce the second annual Kiwanis for Kids Lottery. The Lottery will be kicked off at 11:00 a.m. on Friday October 8, 1999 in the Eaton Court (2nd level) of the Rideau Centre and will conclude with a draw at the same location at 3:00 p.m. on October 30, 1999. Carol Anne Meehan of CJOH-TV will kick off the Lottery and Max Keeping also of CJOH-TV will preside over the draw. All funds raised will support Kiwanis initiatives that assist children and youth in the Ottawa-Carleton region.

Joining the Lottery this year is Carnival of Cultures who will be staging lively dance and musical shows throughout the lottery period as will school choirs and well-known local entertainers. “This is a very important project for our children and our Club.” said Kiwanis Club of Ottawa President John Callan. “After all, without kids where would our world be? And without our help, where would our kids be?” The Kiwanis Club of Ottawa is the largest Kiwanis Club in Canada and recognized throughout Kiwanis International as one of the most active and effective.
