It was a wonderful party! Thank you to Dominic D’Arcy and his Rising Stars who put on a terrific performance, especially the 3 Schleeman sisters, aged 8,9,and 11, who step-danced and played the violin at the same time, and in harmony!
Our party wouldn’t be the same with your performers, Dominic! And we can’t forget Santa – the star of the show – Ken Miller did a great job entertaining, and then took a flip and banged his head. We were happy that Ken is okay but a couple of little children were frightened to see Santa’s hat fly when he landed on his back!
Thank you very much to Dominic who is always great with the children and ensures they have a good time. The Tunis Shrine Clowns keep the action going, and the children entertained. Thank you to Gary Flockton who organized the entertainment for the children, and the clowns, and thank you to Rita who coordinated the families and the seating. Plus we were able to incorporate 12 Key Clubbers who dressed as Santa’s elves and kept an eye on the children- Thank you!
Sam Bhargava donated the goodies for Santa to hand out and Kanta was one of the first ones there, selling raffle tickets and taking photos. Photos taken at the Kiwanis Family Christmas Party will be available if members wish to purchase a print from the office.
The Fairmont Chateau Laurier also deserves recognition for always providing a great meal, and taking care of all of our personal requests. “What a Fantastic Party!” said one of our newer members.
Be sure to join us next year!! Attendance: 158 = 29 members, 129 guests(82 adults – 47 children)
Congratulations to the winners of the raffle prizes – 3 Gingerbread Houses to build yourself, donated by Rita Harper, and 2 giant pencil sets donated by the office.
