Only two days into the Kiwanis Precious Minds Read-a-thon, and the students at D. Roy Kennedy Public School have almost read 600 books.
The students will be reading not only for the joy of reading, but to raise funds. Students have been requesting pledges based on the number of books they read, with the funds being used for the school library. Some of the funds will be donated to a 'Beacon' school inside of Ottawa. The school is updating its results regularly on the school web site.
