Weekly Meeting - Ron Cleminson Commissioner of UNMOVIC “Containment as an Alternative to War in Iraq”

Mr. Cleminson, a fascinating man, who is the only Canadian appointed by the Security Council on the UN Monitoring, Verification and Inspections Commission, explained that the UN is trying to contain the problems of Iraq and ensuring they don't transfer over to other countries, as they did successfully in Korea in 1950 and in Iraq in 1990 He stated that there are more media in Iraq right now than Inspectors. He stressed that even with the declaration of weapons turned over, there is still the concern of regeneration.

Thought for the Week: We haven't been given this planet by our parents, we are borrowing it from our children and grandchildren.
