Wow! What a meeting. Thank you to Vice-President Rick Barrigar for chairing the meeting while President Ed fights the flu bug. In a very light-hearted manner Roger Neilson spoke about the challenges in his life with cancer and the importance of fundraising in the battle for all cancers. He is thankful for three things: great medical care, the support of his hockey family and friends, and his religious faith. He believes that we are all here for a reason and that when life hits us with something difficult we must keep our faith and have a positive attitude.
We heard from Jocelyn Lamont from the Candlelighters who spoke on kids and cancer. With assistance from Bell Mobility, our Partners In Caring fundraiser will provide pagers that will provide a sense of security to the parents and the children who will have immediate contact.
Thought for the week Some people drink from the fountain of knowledge, others just gargle.
