Paul Benoit answered the question - Why do we need a new airport? We need more room in the terminal and we need more parking. With the aid of some very interesting pictures Mr. Benoit explained that without any funding from the federal government the Road to Expansion took off in 1998, with a deadline for opening in 2004. He spoke of their primary objectives to benefit the public, the benefits of more than 1700 new jobs, the fun facts about the amount of soil needed, cement, steel and square footage. With some virtual reality technology we saw into the future with a walk through the site plan including the parking. The 54 members in attendance shared in the Q&A session and were all pleased with Mr. Benoit's presentation.
Thought for the Week: We fear things in proportion to our ignorance of them.
