Weekly Meeting - Michel Vennat, Business Development Bank of Canada

Michel Vennat spoke about the positive transformation of our economy since 1991 which is a result of our hard work, smart investments and many courageous decisions including our dealings with NAFTA. He stressed that small and medium-sized businesses adapted quickly to the economic slowdown and became more competitive, within Canada and with our American friends. Investing in our education also allowed us the skills needed to compete and with better research and an entrepreneurial spirit, we are better able to meet the innovative challenges that we will continue to face.

President's thought for the Week: The word 'vegetarian' comes from an indigenous phrase meaning "lousy hunter".
