Weekly Meeting - Michael O’Bryne, The Ottawa Heart Institute - The Inside Story

Michael predicts perfect telethon weather with rain Saturday and cold Sunday!. "We all know someone with a heart problem" and improvements to the Heart Institute are certainly appreciated by those that had cause to use the facility. The amazing story of Noella Leclair, Canada's first artificial heart transplant recipient in 1986 had a significant impact on Michael's life. He was the exclusive journalistic eye for the rebirth of a human being! During those days, the medical profession had no idea how long the artificial heart unit would last, but the death of a 30 year old man with two children provided Noella with another chance of life. Since that day many medical breakthroughs have been made, and it is only with continued support of a caring community that the needs of our aging population can be met.

Thought for the Week: Happiness comes through doors you didn’t even know were open.
