Paul Welsh updated our Club on the progress of the Kiwanis Funded high school substance abuse program at Bell High School and Rod Macdonell shared with us some of his personal experiences with teenage with substance abuse problems. This is a very important area in need of our help and the Kiwanis Medical Foundation should be proud of their involvement.

We welcomed our newest member Dawn Morewood, who was introduced by her sponsor, Murray McKeage. Dawn is a Senior Advisor at Royal Trust where she has worked since 1988. She is an Ottawa native and lives in Melcalfe with her husband and 2 children. Dawn is very active in many organizations , is an avid cyclist and loves to travel. She will be joining our Education Committee and our Special Olympics Committee. Welcome to our club, Dawn.
President's Rose Derek Finley and David Young, two hard-working Kiwanians , received Roses today for leading a strong Duck Race Committee and selling 78,600 tickets - the highest ticket sales in 5 years.
