Weekly Meeting - “Iceland - A Misnomer” Olaf Sigbaldaddttir

Thank you to Alison Poirier for arranging a great lunch at the Courtyard By Marriott Ottawa. Olof Sigvaldadottir spoke on the beauty of Iceland which is only 11% ice - contrary to popular belief - noting that Greenland is 85% ice. With a population of 300,000 in an unpolluted and unspoiled environment, Iceland attracts 400,000 tourists yearly, which can be attributed to the bright summer nights in May, June, and July. Viking settlers were drawn to the raw, dramatic landscapes born from volcanic eruptions and glaciers, more than 1,100 years ago. Visit http://icelandnaturally.com/

President’s thought for the week: “Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are attractive to the opposite sex".
