Weekly Meeting - Frank Hegyi, Past District Governor

Luncheon Meeting August 7/2009 – Thank you to Past President Bill Gosewitz for Chairing this meeting while President Peter attended the Kiwanis Ec&C District Convention. Bill was pleased to give a package of Oreo cookies to Geoff Godding, and Kathleen Holst won the raffle of a bottle of Sangria fresh from Spain donated by Jackie Holzman. Thank you all for contributing, $28 was raised for our General Account.

Our guest speaker, Frank Hegyi, Past District Governor of the PNWDistrict, explained that he moved from scientific research to writing novels and has written a book on his life experiences called “Living The Dream”. He reviewed the details of getting a book published and compared the statistics on sales of the top bestsellers. He registered his own publishing company – then formatted, designed, and set up his book through Lightning Source in the Us to print his book “print on demand”. This eliminates printing and inventory costs. “Death Can Wait” will be promoted as a way to help others with all proceeds going to cancer research.
