After over 500 hours of communication, Eric McCully came to Canada with a ring in his pocket and a question on his mind, “Will you Marry Me?” After meeting through an Internet service, Eric knew that Kelly Torrance was the right person to be asked this age old question.
Born in Belfast in 1960 during the height of the troubles, Eric realized at a young age that he wanted to be an artist. In 1989, his dream became a reality when he sold his first professional painting and since then has painted in over 35 countries. Eric’s art was displayed throughout the Laurier Room and he encouraged us to be true to ourselves and bring out the inner artist that is inside all of us. Eric and Kelly also entertained with guitar and voice showing that they are a dynamic duo. His world class art captures the illusion of light through the use of colours and can be viewed at www.ericmccully.com . As Chair of the meeting, Bill Gosewitz summed up Eric’s thoughts noting that he is a shining example of the motto “One Can Make a Difference.”
