Weekly Meeting - EC&C District Governor Dr. John Button

President Derek asked that we think of the victims of the Indian Ocean and the questions that come to mind. It is important to remember the First Object of Kiwanis International, "To Give Primacy to the Human and Spiritual, rather than to the material values of life."

Lt. Gov. Rick Barrigar wished everyone a happy 2005 and welcomed Governor Dr. John Button to the Nation's Capital. Governor Dr. John commented on the Indian Ocean disaster and what Kiwanians around the world and in our division are doing. "Kiwanians of the EC&C have responded generously when the citizens of the world have called in need. They are calling again and I know that you will respond." After speaking of his goals, Governor Dr. John sent a thank you to Val Wilkins for replacing Frank Hegyi with the Circle K and to Harold Moore on the new AKtion Club Charter.

President Derek's Thought For The Week: "A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other."
