Weekly Meeting - Duck Race Luncheon

What a wonderful Duck Race Luncheon! Rob Fisher from Farm Boy gave a heartwarming speech on his personal experience with the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario and reiterated Farm Boy's pride in being the Presenting Sponsor of the Duck Race again this year. Kevin Keohane spoke on the exciting changes in this year's Race and encouraged everyone to sell, sell, sell. He thanked all the attending sponsors, donors, media, and duck dealers for their continued support of CHEO.
It was nice to have Max Keeping join us today and we look forward to his continued contribution on Duck Race Day. Max is a 'fundraiser extraordinaire' and he commended all of us for the contributions we have made to our Kids and our Community. The Children are The Future.
Carolyn Kennelly, an RN in the neonatal department at the Children's Hospital, spoke on the tiny hearts that benefit from the Race. She explained that they received 4,500 visits last year explaining that these tiny hearts really are no bigger than an egg. A young mother, Kelly Russelle, was strong when she spoke about Aidan, her 7-months-old son who was born with a heart defect and has received exceptional personal attention from the Hospital.
