Weekly Meeting - Dr. Andrew Pipe, Chief Medical Officer for the Canadian Olympic Team in Sydney, Australia

A wonderful meeting full of recognition and honour for some of our Canadian Olympians. Dr. Andrew Pipe explained how he got started as a Medical Officer to the Canadian Olympics in 1976 and how it was a dream he was finally able to realize. The success of the Olympics in Sydney, Australia, he stressed, could not have happened without the 47,000 volunteers and the 11,000 who provided health services to the athletes. In addition to winning 96 medals and ranking 4 in the Games, the athletes should be proud of promoting physical education and inspiration among the youth of today.
