The Kiwanianne Club of Ottawa

Do you know that the Kiwanianne Club of Ottawa is a committed service organization whose history spans almost fifty years of volunteer service to the Ottawa community?

On the second Tuesday of every month, the women of the Kiwanianne Club of Ottawa meet to help support many of the initiatives of the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa who have sponsored us since our charter within Kiwanis International in 1988.

As the former KL Ladies Club which began meeting in 1952, our membership was initially comprised of wives and widows of Kiwanis members. We now draw our membership from many different groups of women who don't necessarily have spousal affiliation with Kiwanis, but who wish to serve their community in similar ways.

Since 1988, the Kiwanianne Club of Ottawa has raised over $160,000 to support the community through fundraisers such as: Dinner/Fashion Shows, Bridge and Dessert Evenings, Gourmet Food and Craft Sales, Time and Talent Auction, Raffles and Fantasy Ticket sales, Garden Tour and Cookbook, Flea Markets and Silent Auctions.

The Kiwanianne Club of Ottawa was pleased to give $3,500 to support the Kiwanis Worldwide Service Project to Eliminate IDD (Iodine Deficiency Disorders) and last year we supported the CPR Mannequin Initiative of Kiwanis by donating $2,500 to Gloucester High School for the purchase of 30 mannequins.

This fall we will be holding a 'Time and Talent Auction' as our major fundraiser.

February 8th is our Charter Night Dinner. We gather at 6:30 pm for a 7:00 pm start. President Uttra Bhargava and the entire Club would be delighted to have you join us for a wonderful evening of food and fellowship at the Ottawa Hunt Club. (If more than 4 Kiwanis members are present it counts as a 'make-up'. Dinner costs $21.00 each)

The objects of the Kiwanianne Club of Ottawa are: To provide community service opportunities; to unite our members in fellowship and in finding personal satisfaction in serving; to cooperate with the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa in carrying out its Objects, Community Service Projects, Programs and Activities
