Roger Moore Luncheon for IDD

In 1997 we held a luncheon at the Congress Centre with guest speaker Roger Moore, of the James Bond 007 fame, who was ambassador for the “Kiwanis Worldwide Service Project to Eliminate Iodine Deficiency Disorders” (IDD), and the luncheon helped us raise $6,500.

This $6,500 was added to our pledge of $50,000 as our club’s contribution to this Kiwanis worldwide service project, which provided iodized salt to third world countries. This Kiwanis project has successfully eliminated IDD from the globe!
