The Read-a-thon has expanded around the world through the Internet, with the Phillipines being the most recent country to join. Here is a letter received by Lee Scott our co-orindator for the Read-a-thon.
Dear Lee Scott: Thank you so much for allowing me access to the Teacher Resource Center. Our school, Ma-ao Elementary School in Bago city, Philippines is implementing the Read-A-Thon. We have started this program last July 14, 2006. In fact, everyday we have our Read aloud. we invite parents and other stakeholders to read stories to our kids.
Just last month , we received a communication regrading the national search for the Read-A-Thon in our Department.Just recently, our school won in the Division Level Search for the Read-A-Thon. My problem is we are running out of reading materials for the kids. Now i am very thankful that I can make use some of the materials you have here in your website.
Rest assured that I will be sending you pictures of our School Read-A-Thon. Thank you very much.
Very truly yours,
ALMA J. GULMATICO Principal
