The Kiwanis Club of Ottawa is one of the most active and dynamic service clubs in the world, one of 8,000 Clubs in Kiwanis International, and the largest Kiwanis Club in Canada. Community service projects carried on by Kiwanis in the Ottawa area include the "Precious Minds" video and fund rasing projects carried out by the Club include the Kiwanis Duck Race for Tiny Hearts at CHEO (the largest Duck Race in the world).
The Club requires a Marketing Coordinator to act as the central person responsible for creating and implementing the marketing initiatives of the Club. Activities include coordinating the major donor program and acting as a marketing resource person to committees. The Club is a volunteer organization working for the community. The Marketing coordinator is required to adapt to the special conditions of this environment. A proven record of being able to work in the spirit of Kiwanis and its presence in the community is essential. A proven record of being able to self start projects, and to work towards tight deadlines with limited supervision is essential. A proven record of being able to work in a team which includes volunteers is essential.A high level of comfort with computer software is essential. The applications required for the position will include PageMaker, Word, Excel, Photoshop, Filemaker and Web browsers. Writing and editing skills for the weekly newsletter, periodic press releases, correspondence and the web site is required. Project management skills for the setup and organization of projects is required.
