Her Excellency Mrs Diana Fowler Leblanc, Palliative Care in Canada

Her Excellency gave us a personal glimpse http://www.gg.ca/speeches/kiwani_e.html into her experience with a close family friend who needed palliative care of hospice care, as it is also known. She explained that hospice is about compassion and caring for people who are dying. It is about hope in the broadest sense, to improve physical and psychological comfort and to improve the quality of life for those nearing death. Hospice is also available to assist family and friends come to terms with their loss. Her Excellency reminded us that everyone of us can make a difference.
