Gifts by Will

A few words placed in your will or codicil to a will may have the dual result of benefiting the Kiwanis Club and entitling your estate to a tax break in the year of your death. Bequests to the Club may take any of the following forms: •a specified sum of money; •a gift of a particular asset, i.e.,a savings account,an investment or insurance proceed; •a share of the value of your estate. Tax planning opportunities can also arise where the gift is property as opposed to cash. A thorough review of your assets and anticipated income in your later years can set the stage for giving at less cost by will.
