Closing Parade Update

Note to Parents: The closing Parade every Wednesday night starts at 9:00 pm and all parents are welcome to attend. It is a wonderful display of the progress of our cadets on parade.

Last night we celebrated a graduating cadet, Sergeant Morrow. It was her birthday and she has now aged out. Best Wishes with her future endeavours are sent out to her from the Squadron and the Parents Support Group.

Presentations were made to the winners of the Walk-A-Thon. The top prize was an I-Pod and it was won by Cpl. Nadeau for raising $560.00 in sponsors. This was a job well done, Congratulations!!!

Numerous presentations were made last night. Our new recruits were recognized as Cadets. All those who attended a camp last summer received badges for their efforts. The camps included Basic, Introduction to Survival, Introduction to Aviation, Rifle Coach, Introduction to Leadership, Introduction to Instruction, Physical Education and Training, Instruction and Basic Band.

The Music Clinic held on Oct 29 & 30 also produced badges for Basic, Level 1 and Level 2.

The Biathlon held last weekend produced badges for Marksmanship and Level 3 Marksmanship. The list is too long to mention every cadet by name; however, we would like to send out a big Congratulation to all who received badges.

Captain Spence would like to thank all the cadets that came out and participated in the Poppy Sales this past weekend.

The Parent Support Group would like to thank all those cadets that came out to the Monster Ball on Saturday night. It appeared that all the cadets had a great time.

All Cadets received a request from National Defence Headquarters to complete an on-line survey that would take up to 15 minutes to complete. This survey is open to Parents as well as Cadets. Please visit www.ipsosresearch.com/cadets/ to complete the survey.

All cadets were sent home with a Gift Wrap Fundraiser Campaign to start Wednesday November 16th and finish December 14th. The Gift Wrap will be available EVERY Wednesday night for pickup and the cadet does not have to wait until they get their sheet filled to pick up the gift wrap. We would ask the parents to help their Cadets by taking the order form to their offices for additional orders.

Friday Nov 11, 2005 Remembrance Day Parade will be held at the Westboro Legion from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. You didn’t need to sign up for this; we would like to see 30 – 40 Cadets on Parade, providing parents have given permission to miss school.
